SMARTS ELEMENTARY EXECUTIVE FUNCTION CURRICULUM – GRADES 2-5

SMARTS Elementary provides elementary grade teachers with the tools necessary to teach executive function processes. Each unit addresses an area of executive function crucial for success in school and life:

  • Unit 1: Introduction to Executive Function Strategies
  • Unit 2: Goal Setting
  • Unit 3: Thinking Flexibly
  • Unit 4: Organizing and Prioritizing Materials and Time
  • Unit 5: Organizing and Prioritizing Information
  • Unit 6: Remembering (memorizing)

The SMARTS Elementary curriculum can be used in general education classrooms, special education classrooms, after school programs, and learning centers.

Since each lesson is divided into four 20-minute sessions, teachers have the flexibility to integrate lessons across a range of subjects and tasks, from reading, writing, and math, to time management, perspective taking, and conflict resolution.
