Free Webinar – Motivation, Effort, and Executive Function: Announcing the MetaCOG Surveys & Toolkit
February 2 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

What is the relationship between motivation, effort, and executive function strategy use? How can we measure these important components of successful learning? And how can we use that knowledge to inform instruction, build relationships with our students, and help them become strategic and self-aware learners?
MetaCOG Surveys & Toolkit is an interactive executive function survey tool that features two surveys: the STRATUS (Strategy Use Survey) and the ME (Motivation and Effort Survey). The STRATUS highlights students’ perceptions of their use of planning, organizing, memorizing, shifting, and self-checking strategies. The ME helps teachers understand what motivates their students and helps them persevere, and it also allows students to share how much effort they put into various subjects and academic tasks. This unique online survey system enables students to understand and reflect on their personalized EF and motivation/effort profiles and also provides teachers with a class summary and action plan framework based on their students’ needs. Join Lynn Meltzer, Ph.D., Director of the Research Institute for Learning and Development (ResearchILD), and Caitlin Vanderberg, M.Ed., ResearchILD Associate, to explore the features of MetaCOG Surveys & Toolkit and how you can use this online survey tool to support your students.
